Everyday. One step at a time.

And I thought some days were bad, this week tops it all off. AP exams begin next week so all my teachers are cramming information into these final few days. I was refused my first choice for our club’s food which made things 10x more difficult. And an NHS induction ceremony was overall just a hassle more so than something rewarding. To top it all off, prom is tomorrow. Absolutely wonderful.

Man how far television has fallen. Which is probably why I stick to watching the shows that genuinely interest me rather than thisotherstuff that’s on t.v. these days. I decided tonight to dive into the world of Disney’s shows and all I can say is wow. How supremely disappointed I am.

I’m fortunate enough to grow up under the influence of television when it was, well in a word, awesome.Many of these shows don’t give enough credit to the mind of the average teenager. Sure to an extent technology and major breakthroughs in our everyday world have changed some of the dynamics of our youth’s problems these days, but they’re still pretty much the same.

I grew up with shows that taught me essential core values and lessons that have shaped me to be who I am today. I feel bad for this generation. How are you supposed to relate to a show where all the actors play roles of superstars? Where is the common ground between the average teenager and characters that obviously belong to the upper middle class. Television is NEVER a true portrayal of actual reality, but feed this to teenagers long enough and sure enough, this is all they will think is out there.
